The Journey of Compound Fitness

Every great transformation begins with a decision—a moment when comfort is no longer enough and something deeper calls you higher. Compound Fitness didn’t start with a business plan or a big budget. It started with a spark—a realization that the world of health and fitness was missing something essential. This is the story of how failure, faith, and an unshakable vision turned a borrowed gym into a movement. A story not just about building a business, but about helping everyday people become the strongest, most resilient version of themselves—from the inside out.

The Origin of Compound Fitness

The Journey of Helping the Novice Become Advanced in Their Health and Fitness

Compound Fitness Founder

Compound Fitness officially opened its doors in 2020, but the seeds were planted years earlier—in 2017—during a season of reflection, hunger, and divine redirection.

At the time, I was working at Cleveland Clinic as an Exercise Specialist and taking on clients as an in-home personal trainer. I saw firsthand the gaps in the wellness industry—surface-level programs, short-term solutions, and a lack of holistic care for people’s physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. While I was helping others improve their fitness, I realized I had a deeper calling to reshape the entire approach.

The real spark came one day while scrolling Instagram. I read that the average CEO reads 52 books a year. I had just finished my first: Ignite the Fire—and it lit something in me. That day, I decided to become a student of greatness. I asked every successful person I trained: What three books most impacted your career? Then I ordered them—one by one—and devoured them.

From How to Win Friends and Influence People to Rich Dad Poor Dad, I didn’t just read—I applied. I took risks. I tried real estate. I failed. But I learned. I left both of my jobs to focus on building something that didn’t yet exist—a new standard for health and fitness in America. Every year from 2017 to 2020, I believed this will be the year. And while the results were slow, my faith grew faster. God was building something in me before He built something through me.

Then came a breakthrough disguised as a storm: COVID-19.

When the world shut down, fear spread—but so did opportunity. I was working at FitBody Bootcamp at the time, and when everything went virtual, I was the only trainer still showing up daily, leading every class from my home. In that moment, I saw what fitness could be: not just workouts, but connection, community, and consistency in chaos. The bond I formed with our members became unshakable.

Not long after, the gym owner was considering his next move—and I was ready to take a leap. I didn’t have much, but thanks to what I’d learned from those books, I had the mindset and a small stock market win that became the down payment. I structured a deal—an owner-financed purchase—and officially took ownership of the gym.

From day one, I knew this would be more than a gym. Compound Fitness would be a place where people aren’t just changed physically—they’re transformed personally. Where the novice becomes advanced, not by accident, but by a purposeful, proven process. Where we maximize potential—not just optimize it.

To this day, I give all glory to God for the opportunity to lead this mission. Compound Fitness is the result of failure, faith, and a relentless desire to help others build bodies that last and live lives that matter.
